How To Share Sound When Presenting On Google Meet

Google Meet stands out as a widely used video conferencing tool that enables participants to display their screen, share documents, and even broadcast audio to others in a meeting. The ability to share audio is especially beneficial for showcasing content that relies on sound, like music or video clips. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps for sharing audio on Google Meet.

Step 1: Join a Google Meet

To share sound on Google Meet, you first need to join a meeting. You can do this by clicking on the “Join” button in your email invitation or by opening the Google Meet app and entering the meeting code provided by the host.

Step 2: Share Your Screen

Once you are in the meeting, click on the “Share” button located at the bottom of your screen. This will open a menu where you can select what you want to share with others. Click on the “Screen” option and then select the audio tab.

Step 3: Select Your Audio Source

After selecting the audio tab, you will see a list of all the available audio sources on your device. You can choose to share sound from your computer’s microphone, speakers, or even an external audio device such as headphones or a mixer.

Step 4: Adjust Volume and Playback Settings

Once you have selected your audio source, you can adjust the volume and playback settings to ensure that others in the meeting can hear the sound clearly. You can also mute or unmute yourself at any time by clicking on the microphone icon located in the bottom left corner of your screen.

Step 5: Share Your Screen

After adjusting the volume and playback settings, click on the “Share” button to start sharing your screen with others. You can also choose to share just a specific window or application by clicking on the drop-down menu next to the “Share” button.

Step 6: End Your Share

When you are done sharing your screen, click on the “Stop Sharing” button located in the top right corner of your screen. This will end your share and return to the normal meeting view.

Sharing sound on Google Meet is a simple process that can greatly enhance your presentations. By following these steps, you can ensure that others in the meeting can hear your audio-based content clearly and without any issues. Remember to always test your audio settings before starting a meeting to avoid any last-minute technical difficulties.
