Unfortunately, Canva does not have an automated way to add page numbers. But don’t worry, there’s a manual workaround to this, and we’ll guide you through it with this step-by-step tutorial.
Step 1: Open Your Design
The first thing you need to do is open the design or document that you want to add page numbers to. Click on the design and it will load up on your screen.
Step 2: Select Text Element
On the left side of the Canva user interface, you’ll find a tab named ‘Text’. Click on it and select ‘Add a little bit of body text’.
Step 3: Positioning the Text Box
Next, position the text box where you want the page number to appear. You can drag and drop the text box to your desired spot, typically at the bottom corner of the page.
Step 4: Adding the Page Number
Type in your starting page number in the text box. So, if you start numbering from the first page of your document, your starting number will be ‘1’.
Step 5: Duplicate Pages
If you have multiple pages where you want to add the same page number placement, use the ‘Duplicate page’ option. This will create a copy of your page with the same elements, including the page number.
Step 6: Adjusting Page Numbers
For each duplicated page, click on the text box with the page number and manually change it according to the page sequence. Repeat this process for all your pages.
