How To Use Trello To Manage Multiple Projects

As you take on more responsibilities in your business or personal life, juggling multiple projects at once can become a daunting and overwhelming challenge. Fortunately, there is a tool that can make this task more manageable and efficient – Trello. With its helpful features, Trello is a fantastic resource for seamlessly managing multiple projects.

What is Trello?

Trello is a task management app that gives you a visual overview of what is being worked on and who is working on it. It was originally made by Fog Creek Software in 2011, then spun out to form the basis of a separate company in 2014 and later sold to Atlassian in January 2017.

Creating a Trello Board

The first step in using Trello to manage multiple projects is creating a new Trello board. This is where all your tasks, deadlines, and materials for a specific project will be stored. To create a new board, simply log in to your Trello account and click on “Create new board”.

Managing Tasks with Trello

After creating your board, it’s time to add some tasks. These tasks are represented as cards on the Trello board. To add a new card, click on the plus sign in the top right corner of the board, and then type the name of your task.

Using Labels to Organize your Tasks

Labels in Trello can be used to categorize your tasks based on different parameters such as priority, task type, task status, etc. To add a label to a card, click on the card and then on the “Labels” button.

Assigning Tasks

In Trello, you can easily assign tasks to team members. This makes it easier to track who is responsible for what. To assign a task, click on the card and then on the “Members” button. From there, you can select the team member you want to assign the task to.

Using Checklists for Subtasks

If a task consists of multiple subtasks, you can create a checklist within the card. This allows you to break down a big task into manageable chunks. To add a checklist, click on the card, then on the “Checklist” button.

Setting Deadlines

Deadlines can be set for each card. Once a deadline is set, Trello will remind you as the due date approaches. To add a due date, click on the card, then on the “Due Date” button.

Managing multiple projects doesn’t have to be a stressful task. With Trello, you can easily keep track of all your projects and tasks in one place, making project management a breeze. The ability to categorize tasks, assign them to team members, set deadlines, and track progress makes Trello an invaluable tool for any project manager.
