Getting Started
First things first, you need to download the Slack app from the App Store. After downloading and installing the app, open it by tapping the Slack icon on your device.
Signing In
If you have an existing account, you can sign in by entering your workspace’s Slack URL, then your email and password. If you’re new to Slack, you can create an account by clicking the Get Started button and following the prompts.
Navigating the Slack Interface
The Slack interface on the iPhone is user-friendly. At the bottom of the screen, there are four tabs:
- Home: This is where all your conversations are located. Tap on a conversation to open it.
- DMs: Here you can see all your direct messages.
- Mentions: This section keeps track of all messages where you’ve been mentioned.
- You: This is your profile section, where you can set your status, view your profile information, and access settings and other options.
Joining or Creating a Channel
To join a channel, tap on the Channels section, then tap the + sign. You can use the search function to find the channel you want to join or click on the Create option to start a new channel.
Sending Messages
You can send a message by opening a conversation and tapping the message box at the bottom of the screen. Type your message and hit Send.
Attaching Files
To attach a file, tap on the + icon next to the message box. You can select files from your device or from your linked cloud storage.
Notifications
Stay in the loop with Slack notifications. You can customize your notifications by going to Settings > Notifications. Here, you can choose when and how you want to be notified.
