How To Use Figma For Presentations

Delivering presentations is essential in our professional endeavors, and it is crucial to create engaging ones for effective communication. Figma, a robust design tool, can be leveraged not only for UI/UX design but also for producing impressive presentations. Let’s explore the ways to utilize Figma for presentations.

What is Figma?

Figma is a cloud-based design tool known for its versatility. It allows multiple users to collaborate in real-time, making it a go-to solution for teams all over the world.

Creating a New File

Firstly, log into your Figma account. In the project folder, click on the ‘+ New File’ button. This would open a new, blank file where you can start designing your presentation.

Setting up Slides

In Figma, slides are represented as Frames. You can choose the ‘Presentation’ template from the right-hand side panel to get the frames in the size of typical slides. To create a new slide, just click on the ‘Frame’ tool in the toolbar or press ‘F’ as a shortcut.

Designing your Slides

With Figma, your creative control is endless. You can add shapes, texts, images, and even interactive elements. All these elements are available in the toolbar on the left. You can also adjust the properties of each element from the right-hand side panel.

Adding Transitions Between Slides

Interactivity is what makes Figma stand out. You can add transitions between slides by using Prototyping. Just select the element you want to trigger the transition, go to Prototype mode, and link it to the target frame. Then, you can customize the animation type, easing, and duration.

Presenting your Design

Once you’re satisfied with your storyboard, you can present it right from Figma. Click on the ‘Present’ icon in the top right corner. Your presentation will be displayed in full-screen mode, and the transitions you’ve set will come into effect.

Sharing your Presentation

Figma makes it easy to share your presentation with others. You can invite others to view or edit your file. Alternatively, you can create a shareable link by clicking on the ‘Share’ button in the top right corner.

With these steps in mind, Figma can be your new tool for creating dynamic and collaborative presentations. Its ease of use, combined with its powerful design and prototyping capabilities, makes it an excellent tool for anyone – designers and non-designers alike.
