Step 1: Open Your Instagram App
The first step to posting on your Instagram story is to open your Instagram app. Make sure you have downloaded the latest version of the app from the App Store or Google Play Store.
Step 2: Access Your Instagram Story
Once you have the app open, you should see your profile photo with a “+” sign in the upper left corner of your screen. This is your Instagram story button. Click on it to access the story function.
Step 3: Capture or Upload a Photo/Video
After tapping the Instagram story button, your phone’s camera will open. You can then take a photo or video directly through the app by pressing the white circle at the bottom of the screen. If you want to upload a pre-existing photo or video, swipe up anywhere on the screen to access your phone’s photo gallery.
Step 4: Add Effects, Text, and/or Stickers
Once you’ve taken or selected your photo or video, you can add effects, text, or stickers to your story. To add effects, swipe left or right on the screen. To add text or stickers, click on the icons that appear at the top of the screen.
Step 5: Share Your Story
Once you’re happy with your story, it’s time to share it! Tap ‘Next’ then ‘Share to Story’. Your story will now be visible to your followers for 24 hours. If you want to save your story for longer (or forever!), you can add it to your highlights.
