Step 1: Create a New File
To start, open Figma and create a new file. You can do this by clicking on the + sign on the top left corner of the dashboard.
Step 2: Select the Text Tool
On the left-hand side of the screen, you’ll find a vertical toolbar. Select the Text tool, which is symbolized by a T icon.
Step 3: Click on The Design Interface
Click anywhere on the design interface where you want your text to appear. When you click, a cursor will appear, signifying that you can start typing your text.
Step 4: Type Your Text
Type your desired text. You can adjust the font, size, color, and other text properties using the right-side panel.
Step 5: Edit Your Text
To edit your text, simply double click on it and make the necessary changes.
Working with Text Styles in Figma

Click on the text you have created. In the right-side panel, under the Typography section, you will see the option to create a new style.

To apply your newly created style, select the text, click on the … next to Text Styles, and choose your style.
Adding Code To Your Text
Figma also allows you to add code to your text. You can do this by using the Code feature under the Text properties panel. Type your code, then select it and choose Code from the dropdown list.
