1. Open Your Image
First, open Adobe Illustrator and navigate to File > Open to select your image.
2. Select Your Image
Once your image is open, click on the Selection Tool (the black arrow) or press V on your keyboard, then click on your image to select it.
3. Open Image Trace Panel
With your image selected, go to Window > Image Trace to open the Image Trace panel.
4. Choose Preset
In the Image Trace panel, you have several presets to choose from. For removing backgrounds, it’s usually best to choose High Fidelity Photo or Default.
Click on the Expand button at the top of the window. This will convert your image into vector shapes.
Now, go to Object > Ungroup or use the shortcut Shift + Command + G (for Mac) or Shift + Ctrl + G (for Windows). This will allow you to select each individual part of the image.
7. Delete the Background
Finally, click on the background of your image to select it, and then press the Delete button on your keyboard to remove it.
8. Save Your Image
With the background removed, you can now save your image by navigating to File > Save as…
