How To Delete A Board In Trello

Managing your Trello boards effectively means knowing how to create, edit and yes, even delete them when necessary. In this blog post, we are going to show you exactly how to delete a board in Trello.

Deleting a Trello board might be necessary when you’re done with a project or if you just need to declutter your workspace. Whatever your reasons, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to do it.

Step 1: Open the Board You Want to Delete

The first thing you need to do is to navigate to the board you want to delete. This could be in the “Recent Boards” section or under any of the teams you’re part of. Click on the board to open it.

Step 2: Open the Board Menu

Once you have opened the board, you need to open the board menu. You can do this by clicking on the Show Menu link on the top right-side of the board screen.

Step 3: Enter the ‘More’ Menu

In the board menu, there’s a link labelled More, click on it. This will open an additional set of options.

Step 4: Click on ‘Close Board’

As part of the ‘More’ options, there is a Close Board button. Click on this button to close the board. Now, it’s important to note that closing the board is not the same as deleting it. When a board is closed, it’s archived and moved out of your main view, but still exists in your Trello account.

Step 5: Permanently Delete the Closed Board

To delete the board permanently, click on the Delete button that appears after closing the board. Trello will ask you to confirm because this action is irreversible. Once you confirm, the board will be permanently deleted from your Trello account.

Note:

Only the board’s creator or an administrator can delete a board in Trello.

In conclusion, deleting a board in Trello is a simple process. By following these steps, you can easily manage your projects and keep your workspace decluttered. Remember, once a board is deleted, it’s gone forever so use this feature wisely!
