One of Jira’s most powerful features is the ability to create a dashboard, a visual interface where you can monitor project progress, track issues, and manage workflows. In this blog post, we will guide you on how to create a dashboard in Jira.
Step 1: Accessing the Dashboard
Log into your Jira account. Once you are on your homepage, go to the navigation bar at the top of the page and click on “Dashboards”. In the drop-down menu, click on “Manage Dashboards”.
Step 2: Creating a New Dashboard
On the Manage Dashboards page, click on the “Create New Dashboard” button in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Step 3: Configuring the Dashboard Details
On the Create Dashboard page, you will need to enter a name for your new dashboard and a description (optional but recommended for team clarity). You can also choose to share your dashboard with others in your organization by configuring the “Shared with” setting.
Step 4: Adding Gadgets to Your Dashboard
After creating your dashboard, you can customize it by adding gadgets. Gadgets are functional units that provide different types of information or charts. To add gadgets, navigate to your dashboard, then click on “Add Gadget”.
Next, you will see a directory of all available gadgets. Click on the “Add it Now” button next to any gadget that you want to include, then click on “Finished” at the bottom right of the directory when you’re done.
It’s important to note that you can customize the settings for each gadget after adding them to your dashboard. Also, you can move around your gadgets and arrange them as you see fit simply by dragging and dropping.
Step 5: Save Your Dashboard
Once you’re happy with the gadgets and their arrangement on your dashboard, click on “Save”.
You’ve now created a tailor-made dashboard in Jira! This dashboard will be the go-to place for you and your team to track project progress and issues.
