How To Create A Virtual Classroom On Google Slides

In today’s digital age, the way we educate and learn has transcended beyond the physical boundaries of a classroom. With the advent of various online tools, virtual learning has become the new norm. Google Slides, one of the most versatile tools in the Google Suite, can be harnessed to create a compelling and interactive virtual classroom. In this post, we will guide you step-by-step on how to create a virtual classroom using Google Slides.

Step 1: Opening Google Slides

The first step is to navigate to the Google Slides homepage. All you need to do is to search for Google Slides on your internet browser and click on the first result. If you are logged into your Google account, you should see a page with your recent presentations and a template gallery.

Step 2: Starting a New Presentation

To start building your virtual classroom, click on the blank option to create a new, fresh presentation. You can also choose from the available templates, but for the sake of this tutorial, we will start from scratch.

Step 3: Setting the Classroom Scene

Your blank canvas awaits! It’s time to set the scene for your virtual classroom. Use the toolbar at the top to change the background color, add shapes, text boxes, and images to create your ideal classroom environment. Be creative and make it engaging for your students!

Step 4: Adding Interactive Elements

One of the most powerful features of Google Slides is the ability to add hyperlinks to your slides. This feature allows you to turn objects and text into clickable links. To add a hyperlink, select the object or text you want to link, right click and choose Link. Then, insert the URL or select the slide you want to link to.

Step 5: Sharing Your Virtual Classroom

Once your virtual classroom is ready, it’s time to share it with your students. Go to the top right corner and click on the share button. You have several sharing options: you can send an email invite, generate a sharable link, or share it directly with your students’ Google accounts. Make sure to adjust the sharing settings to allow your students to view the presentation.

Creating a virtual classroom on Google Slides is not only a fun and creative process, but it also provides a unique learning platform for your students. So go ahead, try it out and create a fun and interactive learning environment for your students!
