How To Copy A Trello Board

At times, you may wish to duplicate a Trello board to save time on setting up a new project or to maintain a template for similar future projects. Fortunately, Trello provides a straightforward way to copy entire boards, including lists, cards, and labels. In this blog post, we will guide you through the process of copying a Trello board.

Step 1: Open the Board Menu

Firstly, open the Trello board you want to copy. On the top-right side of your Trello board, locate and click the Show Menu button. This action will open up the board’s menu panel on the right side of your screen.

Step 2: Navigate to the “More” Option

In the menu panel, find and click the More option. This will drop down further options for you to select from.

Step 3: Select “Copy Board”

In the dropdown menu, click on the Copy Board… option. A new window will appear, prompting you to specify the details of the board copy.

Step 4: Set Up Your New Board

Here, you’ll need to provide a title for your new board in the Title field. You also have the option to choose whether the new board will be part of a team, be private, or be public.

Step 5: Choose What to Keep

You’ll see checkboxes for Keep Cards and Keep Power-Ups. Check these boxes if you want your copied board to include cards and Power-Ups from the original board. If you wish to copy the board structure without the cards or Power-Ups, simply leave these boxes unchecked.

Step 6: Create Board

Once you’re satisfied with your settings, click the Create button. Trello will now create a copy of your board with your specified settings.

Conclusion

And that’s it! You’ve successfully copied a Trello board. This feature can be a real time-saver, especially when dealing with recurring projects or tasks. Remember that all card content, including checklists, attachments, and comments, will be copied if you opt to Keep Cards.

Happy Trello-ing!
