How To Assign A Co-host In Zoom

Zoom has become a widely favored platform for video conferencing, enabling users to easily conduct meetings and webinars. This functionality is particularly beneficial when the primary host has to temporarily leave the meeting or in instances where there are several presenters requiring joint control over the session.

Step 1: Start a Meeting

To assign a co-host in Zoom, you first need to start a meeting. Once you have started the meeting, you will see a toolbar at the bottom of your screen with various options. Click on the “Participants” button to access the participants list.

Step 2: Select a Participant

In the participants list, you will see all the people who are currently in the meeting. To assign a co-host, you need to select a participant from the list. Click on the three dots next to their name and then select “Make Co-Host” from the drop-down menu.

Step 3: Confirm the Assignment

Once you have selected a participant to be a co-host, Zoom will ask for confirmation. Click on “Yes” to confirm the assignment. The selected participant will now have access to all the controls that the host has, including the ability to mute participants, start and stop recording, and share their screen.

Step 4: Remove a Co-Host

If you need to remove a co-host from the meeting, simply click on the three dots next to their name in the participants list and select “Remove Co-Host” from the drop-down menu. This will revoke their co-host privileges.
