If you’re new to the world of Canva or just need a refresher, this blog post will guide you on how to upload and add photos to a Canva design. Here we will walk you through the process with easy-to-follow steps.
Step 1: Login to Canva
Start by heading to the Canva website and logging into your account. If you do not have an account, you can easily create one by clicking on the “Sign up” button.
Step 2: Create a New Design
Once you’re logged in, click on the “Create a design” button on the top right corner of your dashboard.
Step 3: Open the Uploads Tab
On the left side of Canva’s design interface, you’ll see a panel with several options such as “Templates”, “Photos”, “Elements”, etc. Click on “Uploads”.
Important: Make sure the image you’re about to upload is saved in a supported format such as JPG, PNG, or SVG.
Step 4: Upload Your Image
Click on the “Upload media” button. You’ll have the option to upload a file from your device, Facebook, Google Drive, Instagram, and more. Browse your files, select the photo you wish to upload, and click “Open”. The upload process will begin automatically.
Step 5: Add the Uploaded Image to Your Design
Once the image is uploaded, it will appear in the “Uploads” library. To add it to your design, simply drag and drop it onto your canvas, or click on it and it will automatically appear on your design canvas.
Step 6: Resize and Position Your Image
After adding the photo to the canvas, you can resize it by clicking and dragging on one of the corner handles. You can also move the image around by clicking and dragging anywhere on the image.
Note: To maintain the aspect ratio of your image while resizing, hold down the Shift key as you drag the corner handle.
