How To Add A Video To Google Slides

In today’s modern world, adding a video to your presentations can make them more engaging and interactive. Google Slides, a free and user-friendly online editing tool, makes it easy for you to incorporate videos into your presentations. In this blog post, we will guide you step-by-step on how to add a video to your Google Slides presentation.

Step 1: Open Your Google Slides Presentation

First things first, you need to open your Google Slides presentation. If you don’t have one yet, don’t worry! Simply go to the Google Slides homepage, click on + New Presentation, and you’re good to go.

Step 2: Navigate to the Slide where you want to add a Video

Once your presentation is ready, go to the slide where you want to add the video. Click on the slide in the slide navigator on the left side of the screen.

Step 3: Click on the ‘Insert’ Menu

On the Google Slides toolbar at the top of the page, click on the Insert menu. A dropdown list will appear.

Step 4: Select ‘Video’

From the dropdown list, click on the Video option. A window titled Insert Video will pop up.

Step 5: Choose a Video

There are three ways to add a video to your Google Slides:

  • Search: Search for a video on YouTube.
  • By URL: Insert a specific YouTube video URL.
  • Google Drive: Select a video that you have stored in your Google Drive.

Step 6: Click ‘Select’

After selecting your video, click on the blue Select button in the lower left of the Insert Video window. Your video will then be inserted into the slide.

Step 7: Resize and Reposition the Video

Google Slides allows you to adjust the video’s size and position. To resize the video, click on it and drag the boxes on the corners. To reposition the video, click on it, hold, and drag it to your desired place on the slide.

Optional: Video Playback Settings

You might want the video to start at a certain point or automatically play when the slide opens. To do this, right-click on the video and select Video Options. Here you can adjust the start and end times and toggle autoplay on or off.

Final Words

And that’s it! You have successfully added a video to your Google Slides presentation. Now you can take your presentations to the next level and engage your audience in a whole new way. Good luck!
