What version were you using prior to the upgrade? I was using 2.2.1 and the upgrade to 2.2.2 was pretty painless. It took more time to do a complete backup than it did to do the actual upgrade.

It should work fine. I had problems with my server timing out when I was trying to upload the files. I think It is working ok though.
